Overview

Yoostar 2: In the Movies is the sequel to the 2009 PC application Yoostar: Be Scene. It is a movie karaoke game where players can act out 80 famous scenes from movies such as 300, The Matrix, The Godfather, Kindergarten Cop, Shaun of the Dead, The Terminator, Frankenstein, The Wizard of Oz and many more. The game uses a rotoscoping technique to filter out the original actors and replace them with the player's image. The game requires a camera function through Kinect (Xbox 360) or PlayStation Eye (PS3) to capture the player, with optional support for Move on the PS3. The player is put inside the scene and needs to imitate the original motions as well as speak out the lines. Players can either act out the scenes straight or improvise their own lines. The game grades the player based on the imitation of motion and gestures (a silhouette outlines where you should stand in the screen), as well as the rhythm of speaking the lines, similar to the SingStar games. In the Challenge mode there are additional goals while acting out the scenes. Clips can be saved and shared on the Yoostar website, as well as on Facebook and Twitter. Additional movie content is available as DLC.
