Overview

Absolute Drift is a top-down racing game about the art of drifting, controlling a car on tracks and in environments where stunts and drifts have to be performed. The game has no races, there is always only a single car and no opponents, except to compare the best scores on global leaderboards. The car is controlled through four keys to accelerate, brake/reverse and go left or right. There is also a separate handbrake and optionally shifting gears can be enabled when the driving assists are lowered. The drifting is based on the speed and the player has to strategically apply braking and countersteering to maintain a good drift. Drifts in succession built up combos, but these are lost when an obstacle or a part of the environment is hit. The game has five large free-roaming areas, each with a different theme, where missions can be completed such as drifting in specific sections, performing donuts, jumping over obstacles, collecting spinning items or staying close to poles. Each of these opens up new tracks in the main racing modes: drifting on a regular track, mountain drifting with elevation, and Driftkhana as an arena to score as much points as possible in a limited amount of time. There are more than 24 of these levels. When all missions are completed in one of the large areas, the next one is opened up. Six different cars can be unlocked and they can be customized with paint jobs. There is no lives or health system, players only race for the highest amount of points. The game uses a drum 'n bass soundtrack.
