Overview

Garfield the epicurean cat has been sent to a haunted house in order to collect seven sugary desserts, primarily donuts, presented by sponsor Perfection Pastries. Complicating this cakewalk is a series of spooks and creeps hiding around the grounds; Garfield needs to poke around suspicious nooks and crannies (moving with arrow keys or clicking on a direction pad and on screen hotspots) in order to uncover eight helpful objects (like keys and flashlights) he requires in order to retrieve all the baked goods... unfortunately many of them are as likely to contain a good scare as a handy tool. Due to his years of a sedentary lifestyle, Garfield's got a weak ticker and if his "Scare-O-Meter" fills up, this scaredy-cat will decide that discretion is the better part of valour even when donuts are on the line, and leave the spooky manor for some easier treats with fewer tricks, ending the game. A few mini-games (safe-cracking, an anagram, a "Simon" tune-reproducing game and an alphabetization problem) help to lend some texture to the gameplay, though puzzle failure results in another few heartbeats closer to cardiac arrest. (Successful completion of a puzzle, on the other hand, calms Garfield down! Perhaps he should bring a Sudoku book along before he ventures into his next haunted house...)
