Overview

Alpine Ski Racing 2007 is the sequel to both the Ski Racing series and RTL Ski Alpin 2006, but has overall more similarities to the latter. It's a downhill ski racing game. The game features three different difficulties and it comes with six game modes: slalom, giant slalom, super-g, downhill, free ride and speed-downhill. But the heart of the game is the career mode: here the player undergoes a whole season and tries to be as successful as possible - a good enough overall rank will cause a promotion to the next higher league for the next season. Before every event there are a number of possibilities, e.g. betting on the outcome and choosing the correct wax compound. Other important parts are to keep the financial balance and to train - a certain amount of training points are divided to the athlethe's abilities. If the player doesn't want to do this himself, he can hire a coach. The controls during the events consist of steering, accelerating and, if needed, carving for faster turns. There are overall 38 different races on 16 different peaks to ski from. Players can create their own athlete or choose one of the few pre-defined, which are modelled after real-life athletes, including Bode Miller and Hermann Maier.
