Overview

Designed as an educational learning tool for three to eight-year-olds, this features a rendered 3D world of the Toy Story universe, including all characters from the movie and many related sources. There are 15 screens of interactive story segments that include text, speech and exploration elements. Scenes are interactive in that you're given the option to select various items to check out in each location. In addition to the storybook element, there are five activities including the Put-Away Game, Woody's Scheme, The Crane Game, The Escape Plan and a Maze Game. In the Put-Away Game, you must place Andy's toys in the correct locations before his birthday guests arrive. Featuring Woody, there are three distinct games including Shadow Shape Matching, Warmer/Colder and Following Directions - these involve matching shapes to corresponding shadows, receiving clues based on warmer and colder responses and following verbal directions as to where the toys go respectively. Woody's Scheme is a devious plan to knock Buzz Lightyear behind a desk using a domino effect. There's only one problem - the toys are out of whack and it's up to you to place them in correct alignment. In The Crane Game, you match up Martians of different sizes and shapes and shove them into backpacks. Spanning three levels, the number of aliens required changes in each. In an attempt to save Buzz Lightyear from the vile clutches of Sid, the Escape Plan is broken into three activities: the Doorbell, the Toy Stack and the Stairs. After commanding Ducky and Legs to ring a doorbell, you erect a large pillar to reach the door handle. Finally, in the Stairs, you help Woody and Babyface maneuver past the obstacles on each step. The Maze Game features a bird's eye view of a city with traffic lights and obstacles. Try not to get hung up -- you're being chased by the evil Scud. It also has troubleshooting activities and recommendations on expanding the skills learned with the program.
