You're a skateboarder in Skate City, one of the largest skateparks ever built. Ollie off of ramps, grind on rails, and swerve past pedestrians as you bust out tricks. Visit skate shops scattered around the park to upgrade your gear and improve your skills. Participate in competitions to earn medals and cash to use in the shops. But, if you don't get to a competition in time, the infamous "Skate Or Die" message appears, and then you have to hurry!

While the game is set in the IndyCar racing league, not all 15 courses feature the trademark oval design; some of them are with curves and chicanes. The game is designed for quick and easy experience, which means the only diversion from pushing the gas pedal is using the manual gear shifting - and this can be deactivated. There are overall three playing modes: practice, a championship with all 15 courses and a checkpoint race on any course.

As well as two player simultaneous gameplay, Alien Syndrome features pick-ups which assist the player including better weapons and maps of the current level.
