Overview

From the developers of the Angry Birds series, comes RETRY... RETRY is an arcade game with 8-bit NES-style visuals where the player must fly a plane from the beginning of a stage to a landing strip at the end. The plane is controlled by tapping the screen. Each tap rotates the plane's propeller once, making the plane move faster and tilting the nose upwards. When not tapping, the plane slows down and lowers itself. Repeated tapping or holding causes the plane to do a loop and when you let go it stalls. Flying into any element of scenery causes the plane to crash, except for when touching down on tarmac near hangars or the airport. After crashing, the player must retry the level again. A level can be retried any number of times without restrictions. Coins are scattered throughout the stages and can be collected by the plane. When the plane crashes, all collected coins return to their positions, unless the player lands near a hangar beforehand. Coins can be spent on a number of things, most commonly on turning any hangar into a retry point so that the plane starts off from this hangar next time it crashes instead of having to retry the entire level. Sometimes it is possible to watch a 15-second video advertisement instead of spending coins. By completing levels, up to three stars can be earned; usually for finishing the stage, limiting the amount of crashes and flying a certain distance. Stars are required to unlock the next missions. Any level can be replayed afterwards. Bolts are the second currency in the game. You spend them to modify the plane, to improve endurance (some hits are possible), steering, or to add a magnet that attracts nearby coins in a certain radius. They only last to the next retry point that is opened up, however. The game is free-to-play, and both currencies can be bought in-game with real money. Coins can also be used to unlock fly paths that show the ideal route. Some levels also have hidden paths that are hard to reach. There are special stages that are much harder to complete. Once the stage is unlocked, a bypass is constructed to skip it, but you need to wait for a certain amount of time for construction to finish.
