Overview

Angry Birds Rio is a special Angry Birds spin-off, released on March 22, 2011 in as a marketing tie-in with the 20th Century Fox animated film Rio, and was promoted alongside the film. [1]. The Game takes place in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the same events of the movie, and the enemy changes completely. While using the same basic gameplay as the original game, Angry Birds Rio added a number of new elements, most notably the first use of boss levels. In this new game one of the objectives of the game was changed for the first time. The main target went from being the evil, green pigs, to being the weak, caged birds that were victims of smuggling. When all of these were released in the first episode, the target was once again an enemy; the marmosets who wanted to catch the Angry Birds. 2 new exclusive birds are introduced in the game: Blue and Pearl. They are 2 characters from the movie that make their appearance in the game. They have unique abilities: Blue, despite being a bird, doesn't know how to fly, and all he does is flap his wings and scare away materials near him; Pearl, his girlfriend, who can fly, but is chained to Blue, so her special ability is similar to that of the Yellow Bird: fly straight ahead, with Blue dragging. As of version 2.0 of the game, changes were made to the game graphics, making all the birds look like Angry Birds Toons, as well as the game menu dividing it into two parts, making reference to the movie "Rio 2".
