Overview

Bloodsuckers is a 1984 arcade game for the Apple II that was remade for Mac nine years later as "Blood Suckers". At the beginning of each game, a swarm of insects descend upon the human skin at the bottom of the screen. The player has a blood pressure gauge, and as the insects reach the skin and attach and suck blood, blood pressure drops. The player controls a small hand, which can be moved in all directions to swat at insects, and when all bugs on a level are destroyed, the player moves on to a more challenging level. The player is also armed with a can of bug spray, which will destroy every creature on the screen, but can only be used twice per game. If a number of bugs attach themselves to the player, they can choose to flex, which will cause the blood sucking insects to burst from increased pressure. If the player loses sufficient blood pressure, then it's game over.
