In Citizen X the player takes the role of a secret agent recruited off the street and placed in direct confrontation with an elite terrorist organization. The player has 15 minutes to disarm a bomb and save the city. The game is mostly a side-view platformer, but there are many points where FMV will cut in that may have something to do with the area that the player is in. Players have to shoot their way through sewers infested with mutant humanoids and rats, and circus tents with insane bomb throwing clowns. Players need to break walls to find other passages.

The player is an elite special forces soldier who has been parachuted onto the island; it is up to them to shoot their way through the undead hordes and stop Dr. Hellman. The game is played from a first-person perspective. Various zombies pop up in front of a video background and the player must shoot them down either by moving a mouse cursor on screen or by using a light gun.

A young man named Eddie has been apparently trapped in the basement of the old apartment complex Edward Arms. The player character must venture into the complex and find out what is really happening there, at first avoiding various traps and hazards, and later learning to set them against those who harbor evil plans. Double Switch is a "trap-'em-up" game very similar to Night Trap in gameplay and visual presentation. The player has to manipulate cameras to avoid or set traps, affecting the course of the storyline which is represented by live action movie sequences.

The game was produced by Digital Pictures and had a similar "trap-em-up" format to Space Panic, Heiankyo Alien, and their earlier game, Night Trap. Apart from the HUD, the graphics consist of live action full motion video clips starring Corey Haim.
