Overview

Gun Mute is an interactive fiction game set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic western environment, mixing traditional gunslingers with mutant cyborgs and toxic lakes. The player controls Mute Lawton, a man of few words who wants to prevent Sherrif Clayton from hanging his friend Elias. The game strays away from similar text adventures by presenting the environment as a series of showdowns against different enemies. Mute can only move forwards and backwards, and the most important actions are drawing a gun, reloading and taking cover. As always, the environment can be examined and there are many actions that provide extra points and a few laughs. Despite the simplistic pretext of actions, each fight requires a different approach. Mute does not talk, but during conversations he can wave, point, nod or shake his head. The game includes a hint feature for all puzzles, gradually revealing the full solution. Many fights come with alternative paths and solutions.
