Overview
Crayon Shin-Chan – Uchuu de Achoo! Yuujou no Oba-Karate!! is a RPG game developed by Inti Creates for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on December 01, 2011. “Crayon Shin-chan”‘s first appearance on Nintendo 3DS! The game opens with Shinnosuke and his family in the garden. Suddenly, a giant figure emerges from the sky and grabs Kasukabe from the Earth and into space. Shin then goes around town to hear from others about what just happened. Suddenly, a mysterious, purple-haired karate master with a tall geta then appears in front of the Nohara family and says that they have the talent of Karate in their family.
He tells them about the situation, where they need to collect and grant them special abilities, including the Power Hand gloves for Shinnosuke to use. Shihan then tells them about the “Power Spots” that must be collected in order to bring Kasukabe back to Earth. Suddenly, a UFO appears and nearly abducts Shinnosuke, with Hima and Shiro going after the ship to rescue him. After a battle, the UFO lands in the Futaba Preschool park, with everyone gathering to see it. Coming out of the ship are three girls wearing identical green wool short pants.
They then take Shinnosuke’s friends using pink glasses and then scattering them across different planets to search and guard the “Power Spots” themselves. Shihan then trains Shinnosuke and even lets him fly a spaceship for the journey. Shinnosuke’s parents discuss about on what’s going on, with Shinnosuke finally going off on his most incredible adventure yet. The gameplay has 9 worlds where Shinnosuke, Hima, and Shiro go to different planets to either challenge the three sisters or rescue Shinnosuke’s friends, with each world having a boss battle.
A core gameplay element is the Unit Action, where the three can team up to do various actions such as overcoming obstacles. In addition are the Power Hand abilities, when unlocked during the stages, allow Shinnosuke to perform different actions. There are also mini-games that can be played to earn extra money for items, such as arranging blocks, cleaning up Shiro, etc. The player can also replay bosses when unlocked and fought. There’s also a level where the player can play as the SHIN-MEN.
