Kaeru Shooter

Overview

Kaeru is the Japanese word for frog, and that is what you are trying to kill in this pseudo-3D space shooter. You control a spaceship that can be controlled horizontally or vertically as you move forwards at a fixed speed. Barriers appear on the floor which you cannot fly over, or you will lose a life. As you are avoiding these, space frogs in various stages of their life-cycle hop towards you. They start as eggs, but after each shot turn into tadpoles and then adult frogs, before finally succumbing to your death dealing attack. Shooting enough of these creatures will take you to the next level, which features the same types of frog but, slightly faster, and more frequently appearing barriers. Eliminating frogs while they are closer to your ship gives you more points. You start the game with three lives, and the game ends when these are gone.
