Overview

Garfield's It's All About Thinking Skills is a series of mini-games for pre-school children aged 4-5, all the games use the mouse to either select a picture or to drag-and-drop. After signing in the player is presented with a picture of Garfield holding a card with lots of food items on it, this is of course the 'main menu'. Not all of the items on the menu trigger a game, those that do launch one of the following: Drag The Object: this mini game has the player dragging a picture from the bottom of the screen towards the one at the top of the screen that it matches First, Last, Next: here the player puts pictures in the order they occurred. A typical sequence here would be a plant growing from a seedling to a flower. Garfield Don't be Late: a story book extract Select The Picture: this is a simple picture matching game. All the images show a letter in both upper and lower case and usually the uppercase letter is decorated with a picture of a Garfield character, usually the letters to be matched are the same colour and are different to the odd one out. What Belongs?: here the player must select items placed at the sides of the screen that belong with the central picture. A typical example could have a picture of a shed in someone's garden with six images around it, some such as a table, a refuse bin, a barbeque would 'belong' in the main picture while others; a performing seal,; a clown; a sofa would not. What Doesn't Belong?: here the player is shown some pictures, there is an obvious connection between most of them and the player selects the odd one out. If a player wants help with a game there is a help button which triggers audio assistance, the player can also change the character they wish to help them.
