Overview

That evil, rotund Dr. Robotnik is at it again! This time, he's constructed a new island base called Eggman Island and intends to use it to conquer the world. Inevitably, Sonic the Hedgehog, the biggest quill in his side since college, is hot on Eggman's tail, but little does our hero know that Robotnik has prepared for his arrival. Now, Sonic and two of his friends, Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo, are trapped inside Eggman Island! Can our heroes escape and once again foil Eggman's plans? SegaSonic The Hedgehog is an isometric platformer in which up to three players (controlling either Sonic, Ray, or Mighty) must fight their way through Eggman Island and escape with their lives. But Robotnik won't make it easy - in each and every room, there's a series of death traps that can spell death if Sonic and company aren't quick, as well as enemies whose sole purpose is to see Sonic dead. One too many slip-ups, and Sonic's a dead hedgehog. Scattered throughout the courses, however, are rings that increase health as well as boost players' scores.
