Overview

Hoyle Battling Ships and War is a collection of two games: Battling Ships and War. Battling Ships is a variant of Battleship. Two players place five ships of different sizes on a 10 by 10 grid and then take turns attempting to sink the ships with missiles. The number of missiles shot per turn can be decided by the player. By default it varies based on how many ships the player has remaining. War is a version of the card game with the same name. It's played between two players who each have 26 cards at the start. They both draw cards and the one with the higher card wins both cards. When a pair is drawn, war is declared. Each player then draws three cards face-down and one face-up. The player with the higher face-up card wins all cards in the war. Next to the cards, each player has three tanks that shoot at each other as cards are drawn. When a player loses a war, a tank is also lost. When all tanks are lost the opponent wins. A player also wins when in possession of all the cards.
