Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors

Junpei, an average college student, wakes to find himself trapped in a passenger room aboard what appears to be a century-old ocean liner. As he inspects his surroundings, he recalls his abduction by a man wearing a black gas mask. He manages to escape, only to find others who have been similarly kidnapped, including, against all odds, his childhood friend Akane. Over a speakerphone system, their mysterious abductor, calling himself Zero, tells them their fate: they have 9 hours for the 9 of them to work together to find the number 9 door and escape. If they fail, they will die aboard this sinking ship. Thus begins the Nonary Game.
