Overview

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu '97: Kaimakuban is a baseball simulation game and part of the long-running Powerful Pro Yakyuu series. It is the third release in the series for the PlayStation, and the second and final to appear on the Saturn. It features a full NPB license and thus all teams and players from the Japanese Pacific and Central leagues, with rosters up-to-date as of the end of the 1997 pre-season. New in this entry for the 32-bit versions are the addition of Success mode and League mode, which were both introduced in Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 3. Success mode is an in-depth training and story mode where the player creates a new recruit and has three years to make it to the starting lineup; Success mode players can be saved with passwords compatible with several other titles in the franchise, allowing a player to be moved between games. League mode is a tournament mode for up to six players/teams. Other returning modes include the Battle (Exhibition) mode, Pennant mode, and Practice mode. There is also a team editor called Arrange mode.
