FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup

Overview

Electronic Arts' soccer series makes its debut on the Xbox 360 with the launch title FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, an exclusive entry released in conjunction with the 2006 World Cup in Germany. The game introduces a next-generation graphics engine, with star players and coaches modeled in high detail, more animations and more accurate physics simulation. Unlike regular entries in the series, the game includes no club teams and focuses on the qualifications for the World Cup instead.

The game includes 72 international teams, most of which are from Europe. Game modes include friendly matches, custom tournaments and a practice mode. The main feature is the Road to FIFA World Cup mode, which accurately models the qualification rounds for the World Cup, but only for the UEFA teams. The game also supports online play via Xbox Live.

Controls on the pitch are the same as the regular games in the series like FIFA 06. Performing well in the game's various modes earns Road Points, which can be used to unlock various extras.
