Overview
AC/DC is a pinball machine from March 2012 manufactured by Stern Pinball, based on the legendary Australian rock band. The machine was confirmed in January 2012 with the release of a teaser video showcasing the game, along with the twelve songs involved in its soundtrack. Designer Steve Richie signed the playfield and provides the voice-over for the game (which you can change for maximum insulting).
As a celebration of the band's musical legacy, the game tasks players to play through twelve of their most memorable songs, including "Highway to Hell," "Thunderstruck," and "For Those About to Rock". Cycle through the jukebox, fire the rotating Cannon, ring the Hells Bell, then ride the Rock 'n Roll Train. Run through the Jam, Album, and Tour multiballs either individually or simultaneously, make a Request and Change the song, then use your VIP Passes to advance further. Complete all twelve songs, then start the Encore and play them all over again.
The machine came in three models including the Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition (LE). The LE model included an exclusive backglass, "Shake & Quake" motor, and laser cut backbox hinges. Both the LE and the Premium have a 12" subwoofer and the underworld playfield. It features a swinging bell involved in the Hells Bells mode and a lower playfield in the Premium and LE editions for modes that use the word Hell in the song's title.
