Overview

Micro Invaders (also known as Apple Invaders) is another version of Space Invaders and accurately follows the gameplay of its predecessor. Player's goal is to destroy five rows of space invaders while dodging their fire and preventing them from reaching the bottom row and successfully completing their invasion. There are three kinds of aliens, each one scores the different number of points upon destruction. Occasionally a mysterious Flying Saucer traverses the top row of the screen and gives bonus points if the player is able to shoot it. After the screen is cleared of invaders, the new wave appears on the screen and the game loops again. Player's cannon moves horizontally in the bottom row and can shoot vertically upwards. Only a single bullet can be shot at a time, and the next shot can be made only after the bullet hits an alien or reaches top of the screen. There are four "bunkers" that protect player from enemy fire, but are slowly destroyed by aliens and by player's reckless shooting. After the "bunkers" are destroyed dodging enemy fire becomes much trickier. Player begins with three "lives", and any hit by an alien takes one "life". Reaching the score of 1,500 points awards another "life". There is no ending - the only goal is to reach the highest score possible before running out of "lives" or before invaders reach the bottom row.
