Overview

Medieval Joust is a 1-player arcade game for the VIC-20. Two armored riders race towards each other with their lances draw. The distance until contact is displayed at the top of the screen. As the riders approach, the opponents appear larger in the displays at bottom of the screen. The player controls their lance, represented by a target on the opponent's screen, while the opponent tracks them with their shield. The goal is to reposition the target to an undefended part of their opponent's body at the time of contact, scoring higher points for a better hit. The computer also scores points for hits on the player. At higher levels the lance target becomes less responsive. The first player to reach 100 points is the victor. The player receives a Vile Varlet score for the number of opponents defeated in a row.
