Overview
Alphoids is a throw-back to popular arcade games of old, such as Centipede and Space Invaders. You control a ship stranded on the surface of Alpha Centuri 1, unable to dock with the mothership hovering above you due to jet failure. Various aliens of different shapes and sizes are attacking you from above, and you must fight them off to survive. You have to keep an eye out on the two gauges located on both sides of the screen since they determine the health of your ship's laser. If you get hit by one of the aliens or run out of energy, you lose a life. The game ends when all your lives are lost.
