Overview

Brain Buster Quiz is a one or two player quiz aimed at children aged seven to eleven. The quiz is key board controlled. Most questions are multiple choice and are answered with keys 1,2, or 3 but others need the player(s) to respond to something they see on screen and for that each player has an action key - called a 'zapper' in-game, it's 'B' for the single player game and 'A' & 'L' for the two player game. A Quiz can be played at either of three difficulty settings and consists of three rounds, the value of the questions increases in each round. There are five questions to a round, four 'standard' questions and one 'game question', the latter being a rapid fire, five part question where the point value of the questions is determined by a spinner. The game relies a lot on it's audio, so much so that the game will not run if there is no sound card present, but both questions and the choices for answers are displayed on-screen. There is an in-game help file that the player(s) can access from the main menu but at the start of each round and at the beginning of the quick fire questions the in-game player help is entirely spoken. There is a high score table and players can earn 'jokes' told by Seemore the Skeleton in a kind of faux comedy club manner, Seemore is the animated quizmaster and his lines are delivered in a style similar to the way Robin Williams played the genie in Aladdin.
