Overview
As the mysterious Ego, you explore Henry Stauf's mansion, solving puzzles, unlocking rooms, and learning the story of the dark events that took place there years before through phantasmal visions of events long past. What actually happened, and why is Ego now there, with no memories of who he is or how he got there? This edition of the game was modified to run on modern systems by MojoTouch, with UI elements that are optimized for touch devices. In addition to the original features, there are now hotspots along with the ability to highlight the hotspots on the screen, a revamped map, and mouse/keyboard shortcuts. On GOG or Steam, it offers the use of Cloud Saves. It runs natively on Windows, not through SCUMMVM or other emulator. This version includes new music, upscaled graphics, translations into several languages, and additional user interface features, such as mouse and keyboard shortcuts. The graphics and music can be set to the originals, but the voice lines cannot. It also comes with extras including a novelization of the backstory of the game, making-of and blooper media (all of which are stored in the game directory), and "Legacy" versions of the game for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
