Shrines of Enigma

Overview

The Shrines of Enigma, a game by Element (Jan van Valburg, John Robin Smith and Hans Cnossen) for MSX2, released in 1995 by Stichting Sunrise as the first game in the 'games subscription' series.

It's a brilliant game: very good game play, brilliant music and excellent graphics, taking everything out of an MSX2. The music is for the MSX-MUSIC (YM2413).

The game is clearly inspired by King's Valley II, made by Konami.

This recording was made with the Second Edition version, which was copied on an IDE harddisk. Apparently not everything works as expected then, because in the demo play, the sound effects are missing. The rest of the videos have been recorded when playing from floppy disk, where this issue doesn't occur.
