Sakura Wars 1 & 2

Overview

Sakura Wars 1 & 2 (サクラ大戦1&2) is the first Sakura Wars title to be released on the PlayStation Portable. This is a compilation of the first two Sakura Wars games, Sakura Wars and Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die. Although Sakura Wars: In Hot Blood for the PlayStation 2 was released earlier, which is a drastically rearranged version of the first game, this title is basically a port of the Sega Saturn version, with the exception of the mini-game operation screens and other features. Due to hardware performance limitations, some scenes (such as the flickering of the background with fire or the falling petals of cherry blossoms) may be sluggish. In addition, the character voices are unclear compared to the original version, perhaps to fit on a single UMD, and this is especially noticeable in Sakura Wars 2. The long loading time due to the UMD has also been pointed out on game review sites, but this drawback has been eliminated in the downloadable version released later, as the UMD loading itself has been eliminated.
