Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Plus is a revised and expanded edition of the previous Sega Saturn entry in the long-running franchise, featuring several changes and new additions:

• A new scenario mode featuring four campaigns, smaller in scope than the main game

• Additional story event scenes featuring the voice cast from the anime

• Various tweaks to the game mechanics such as a more restricted ability to resupply ships, resulting in a generally more difficult game
