Overview

The Cryptics is now available for PSP gamers. Similar to Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel, The Cryptics is an interactive graphic novel which expands on the experience of reading traditional print comic books by incorporating sound effects, original music scores and interactive commentary. The story focuses on four scary looking monsters: Drac, Sea-Boy, Wolfy and Jackie Jekyll Jr. Their comedic misadventures are penned by Steve Niles (of 30 Days of Night fame) and illustrated by Ben Roman (of I luv Halloween fame). "The Cryptics, the first in a series of digital video comics for the PSP system, represents the evolution of technology and great story-telling talent to deliver a unique interactive multimedia experience for the digital generation," said Christopher Sturr, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing for D2C Games. "Guys like Steve Niles know what comic book fans want, and we're delivering that experience to comic fans in ways that they never thought possible." Although it's not really a game per se, The Cryptics does create another new medium for the multimedia-loving PSP.
