Overview
A television station is holding tryouts to find a new pop idol to represent the company. After several rounds of auditions, only eight young women remain in the running. The final test, to determine both their intelligence and luck, is a mahjong tournament! Whoever wins the tournament also wins the audition, and the competition is fierce. Mezase Idol Star!! is a 1-on-1 mahjong game featuring a cast of aspiring young idols, each portrayed by a real-life actress. The player takes the part of a manager and selects a girl to represent in the tournament; to win the audition, the player must defeat all seven of the other girls at mahjong. The game also includes profiles and a photo gallery of each girl, and additional swimsuit photos are unlocked after clearing each girl's scenario.
