Overview
The player is situated in the cockpit of the Columbia space shuttle. The player has 3 landings options, starting from orbit, entering the atmosphere, or a short distance from the runway. Player can control the shuttle's thrusters in space, and as they go below 58 miles altitude can control the pitch, roll, yaw, speedbrakes, and landing gear of their vessel. Time progresses in 10 second intervals as the player manually enters corrections for their craft. The player must be careful controlling their descent through the atmosphere to avoid burning up or deflecting off into space. The player must line up the runway and ensure they land safely. The current altitude, speed, heading, position, and temperature of their aircraft is displayed on the screen.
