Master thief Lupin the Third is after yet another high-value target: the ship's log from Christopher Colombus' famous voyage to the New World. It's scheduled to go up for bidding at the St. Mary Charity Auction taking place on the top floor of Gable Tower, an incredibly secure high-tech fortress. Of course, such defenses are but a trifle for Lupin and his partners, right? Lupin Sansei: Colombus no Isan wa Ake ni Somaru ("Lupin the Third: The Inheritance of Colombus is Dyed in Vermilion") is the second PS2 game based on the popular Lupin the Third anime franchise, after Treasure of the Sorcerer King. Like its predecessor, it is once again a third-person action game with a heavy focus on stealth and disguises. Lupin can use a variety of weapons including his trusty P38 pistol, as well as steal items and outfits from enemies and disguise himself to avoid detection. At certain points, the player can also take control of Lupin's teammates. Fujiko's sections are similar to Lupin's, except rather than stealing disguises she can use her feminine wiles to charm enemies into giving her information. Jigen's sections consist of on-rails shooting, while Goemon's consist of basic sword-slicing action.
