Overview
Independence Day, released by Sega in July 1996, was designed by Rob Hurtado, with artwork by Jeff Busch. The machine includes three flippers, three ramps, and four multiball modes, including the unique Alien Head and Area 51 multiballs. Based on the blockbuster film, this game brings the silver screen smash hit to life. In true pinball fashion, launch your ball to save the world from the invading aliens. Claim your place at the top of the leaderboard with a truly out of this world experience.
This machine features the voices of Jeff Goldblum, Will Smith and Bill Pullman, as well as support for up to 6 players. In 4-player games, it can uniquely split players into two teams to total their scores. The defining centerpiece of the table is an interactive Alien Head toy in the middle of the playfield that mechanically splits open. It also includes an "off-the-shelf" spaceship toy originally manufactured by Trendmasters.
With a low production run of roughly 1,000 to 1,500 units, it remains a relatively rare and highly collectible title in the pinball community.
