Overview
Honkaku Shougi Shinan: Wakamatsu Shougi Juku is a shogi game featuring the endorsement of professional shogi player Masakazu Wakamatsu. In addition to a standard play mode for one or two players, it includes a variety of features and modes designed to help beginner shogi players improve their skills. There is a "cram school" mode where the player's skills are first measured, and then the game provides advice and challenges meant to help the player practice their weakest points. There is also a "tsumeshogi" shogi puzzle mode with three levels of difficulty, a "3-on-1" mode where the player must defeat three different opponents under specific restrictions, and even a "blind shogi" mode the player is only shown moves as they are made, and must remember the layout of the board.
