It was released on 26 May 2006 in Europe, 30 May 2006 in North America, and 30 August 2007 in Japan. The renewed (HD) version was released on 29 January 2013 in North America, 31 January 2013 in Australia, and 1 February 2013 in Europe. The story follows the life of professional hitman, Agent 47, as narrated in cutscenes by a former Director of the FBI to a journalist who is interviewing him.
