Overview

Rockman Power Battle Fighters is a Japanese-exclusive compilation which features the two arcade-only entries in the series: - Rockman: The Power Battle - Rockman 2: The Power Fighters These two titles were released in North America as part of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for PlayStation 2 and received an ESRB rating of E for Everyone. In , Rockman: The Power Battle Dr. Wily has rebuilt several of his Robot Masters in yet another attempt to control the world. Players can choose between Rockman (Mega Man), Blues (Proto Man), or Forte (Bass). Each character plays similarly but has unique advantages or weaknesses. You can choose between three different storylines which feature different Robot Masters from Rockman 1-3, 4-6, and 7. You only have one life, and can only regain energy by defeating a Robot Master or stage boss. Just like in the original series, defeating a Robot Master will let you earn their weapon, which can then be used against your enemies. Rockman 2: The Power Fighters features three different storylines to choose from and a new addition to the cast - Duo, a robot from outer space. All characters also have a new special move which can be used by charging your weapon, pressing Up on the controller, and releasing the attack button. Furthermore, as you damage the Robot Masters, they'll drop points, health and attack power ups. Unlike the previous game, only one player can pick up the weapon dropped by the defeated Robot Master. Both games feature a Versus Mode for two players, as well as unlockable modes obtained after you clear the games.
