Overview
In the 16th year of Genroku, Asano was embarrassed by Shogun Yoshimune at the "Hanami" event, which is an annual event of the Shogun family. Oishi, a servant of Asano, learns that this is a plot of the shogun and vows revenge based on the spirit of Bushido. One year has passed since Asano's death, and the "cherry blossom viewing" season has come again. Outside the shogun's castle, 47 samurai under Oishi disguised as a soba shop are waiting for the shogun to come out of the castle gate. On December 14, 17th Genroku, Shogun Yoshimune was killed by 47 samurai. Oishi has accomplished a brilliant revenge. However, because the shogun died before there was a successor, influential daimyo nationwide began fighting for the post of the shogun. The era of endless turmoil has begun.
