Overview

One of Tecno Soft's earliest computer games, Star Fleet came out the same year as SEGA's Star Trek arcade game. Judging by the minimap appearance of your interstellar vessel, Star Trek was an influence on the developers behind this title. It was released for the Fujitsu FM-7/8, Sharp X1/MZ-500, and NEC PC-6001/88/98 computers on cassette tape. This was the first space-based game developed by Katsunori/Kotori Yoshimura, a prominent programmer and game designer from the golden era of Japanese PC gaming; his later works include games like Reviver and Star Cruiser, the latter of which revived Star Fleet's game systems in the form of a CRPG.
