Time Secret

Overview

This is the first of the "Time Series" trilogy, and a true hidden gem in the history of Japanese adventures.

The registered word count is 260, and features over 100 scenes with fast-drawing graphics (especially the original MZ-700 version), an immersive story, rpg-ish combat and no silly elements.

The series is often referred to as the "Japanese Time Zone" (a reference to the massive adventure of the day, "Time Zone" from Sierra online).

The system and parser are very user friendly and well made. The parser works in the "noun + verb" order, but when you input a noun and tap space, it automatically adds the particle plus another space. Additionally, there are common commands available from F1 to F10. F10 is for auto-assigning the last item name you have input, Shown as "ソレ" - meaning 'it'.

Below the function key list there is another helpful indicator, a direction compass. If it shows O the direction is open, if X it is closed.

Though it had been planned as trilogy, the third game was cancelled and so it ended with the second game, "Time Tunnel".
