Overview
Released in November 2001 by Stern Pinball, the NFL pinball machine is a football-themed game designed by Mike Schulz based on the Striker Xtreme chassis.
The machine features three flippers, three ramps, and a 3-ball multiball, with a unique "linebacker" toy replacing the goalie on the playfield to stop shots to the goalpost. The game centers around "scoring touchdowns" by shooting the ball into the goalpost at the top of the playfield.
While the machine is generally branded as "NFL," Stern produced 11 different backglass versions, allowing operators to feature specific teams like the Cowboys, Broncos, Browns, or Packers. It is relatively rare, with approximately 400 units produced.
