The solid-state version of Solar Ride was released by Gottlieb in February 1979. It is an electronic system 1 machine, and was designed by Ed Krynski with outer space themed artwork by Gordon Morison.

It has 3 flippers and the simple gameplay includes pop bumpers, kick-out holes a 5-bank drop target and a roll-under in the upper right hand.

It had a production run of 8,800 units, whereas its electro-mechanical counterpart, released a month later, had a production run of only 365 units.
