Overview
Circus, released by D. Gottlieb & Co. in June 1980, is a notable solid-state "extra-widebody" game from the Gottlieb System 80 generation. It is distinguished by being three inches wider than other widebody games of its era and is the last Gottlieb table to feature a roto-target.
Designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison, the table is known for its circus theme, clowns on the playfield, and a challenging, often "creepy" slow-paced carnival atmosphere. It features a second playfield, a roto-target, and notable, high-scoring pop bumpers. 1,700 units were produced.
