Overview
Cross Town is a classic electro-mechanical, single-player pinball machine released by D. Gottlieb & Co. in September 1966. Celebrated for its mid-century urban theme and innovative mechanical animations, Gottlieb produced exactly 2,765 units of this specific wedgehead cabinet model.
Designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Art Stenholm, the game features mechanical subway doors that slide open and shut during gameplay. Achieving a major score target reveals illustrated passengers waiting inside the train.
There is an "Add-A-Ball" variant, titled "Subway", that was released a month after Cross Town, in October 1966.
