Overview
Big Game, released by Stern Electronics in March 1980, is a widebody pinball machine designed by Harry Williams. Known for its safari theme, and for being the first electronic pinball machine to use 7-digit score displays.
The game features four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, five star rollovers, three banks of drop targets, two spinning targets, two stand-up targets, and one kick-out hole. This was Stern's first widebody game, although its playfield was narrower than typical widebody machines of the period.
The machine features a "thumping drum beat" that increases in speed as the ball stays in play, enhancing the "hunter vs. hunted" safari atmosphere.
Stern produced approximately 2,713 units of Big Game.
