Overview
Blackwater 100 is a highly unique motocross-themed pinball machine released by Bally Manufacturing Co. in March 1988.
Instead of the typical pinball game which gives one ball until it drains three times, Blackwater 100 gives three "Heats" of at least three balls each. For each Heat, three balls must be loaded to the Starting Gate, at which point the Starting Countdown begins.
It is notably the last original game produced by Bally before the company was acquired by Williams (WMS Industries). While Bally-branded games continued to be released after 1988, these were produced by the Williams/Midway plant and are generally considered Williams games in terms of engineering and mechanics.
While approximately 3,000 units were produced, it is considered a rare find today due to its complex maintenance and many custom molded plastic parts that are prone to breaking.
