Overview
Pit Stop is a two-player electro-mechanical pinball machine released by Williams Electronic Games in October 1968. Designed by Norm Clark with distinctive "pointy people" artwork by Christian Marche, it is highly regarded for its unique car-racing theme and innovative gameplay mechanics. 2,002 units were manufactured.
The game's standout feature is the interactive racetrack located in the center of the playfield. As players hit specific targets, they "advance" their car around the track, which is tracked by the additional set of score reels in the backbox. Rewards and "specials" can be set to trigger based on either total points or laps completed.
