Puzzle & Dragons X: Kami no Shou

Puzzle & Dragons X – Kami no Shou also known as Puzzle & Dragons X is a Puzzle RPG game developed by GungHo for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on July 28, 2016. Puzzle & Dragons X is a spinoff of the mobile game Puzzle & Dragons and it was released in two versions simultaneously on July 28, 2016; the Gods Chapter (Puzzle & Dragons X: Kami no Shou) and the Dragons Chapter (Puzzle & Dragons X: Ryuu no Shou). Puzzle & Dragons is a match-three puzzle game, requiring players to move and match coloured orbs arranged in a grid.

The amount and type of matches determine which of the six monsters on the player’s team attack the waves of enemy monsters and how much damage they do. An additional layer of challenge is the acquisition, selection, and improvement of a team of monsters from among thousands ranging from standard fantasy fare to deities from several religions and mythologies and characters from popular entertainment franchises. The story takes place in a fantasy world inhabited by humans, dragonoids, and monsters, who live in relative harmony.

There are also Drops and spherical objects from the planet which can power up Monsters. Humans and dragonoids can become Dragon Callers if they have the ability to see the Drops, which allows them to form bonds with Monsters. Currently, the planet is experiencing Drop Impacts, phenomena where a large number of Drops are suddenly generated in a single area and can spread, affecting the area and causing Monsters to go berserk. One of the main duties of Dragon Callers is to stop Drop Impacts by stabilizing the Drop distribution.
