Air Aces

Overview

Released by Bally in February 1975, Air Aces features a distinctive aviation and military theme. Designed by Jim Patla with artwork by Dave Christensen, this electro-mechanical game stands out as the first from Bally to incorporate drop targets.

Despite a relatively sparse lower playfield, Air Aces is engaging and deceptively challenging. It is a 4-player, 5-ball game known for its uncommon four-flipper layout (two standard lower flippers and two smaller upper flippers). Air Aces was quite successful for Bally, with approximately 3,085 units produced.
