Overview
Heavy Metal is a very rare, solid-state game with striking fantasy artwork, manufactured by Brazilian manufacturer, Rowamet. The backglass and playfield art are color variations of an original work created by artist Christos Achilléos for the 1981 movie "Heavy Metal". It shows the character Taarna flying on a giant bird. His original art appears on the movie poster and the September 1981 front cover of Heavy Metal magazine.
The playfield layout is similar to Williams' 1980 'Blackout', and features two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, three spinning targets, two 3-bank drop targets, a 5-bank drop target, and a kick-out hole.
