Overview
Far Out is a classic four-player electro-mechanical pinball machine released by D. Gottlieb & Co. in December 1974. Known for its psychedelic theme and challenging drop targets, it was designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison.
The table features two banks of five drop targets (10 total). A core mechanic is that these targets do not reset once hit until the next ball begins. Completing all 10 drop targets lights a Double Bonus. The end-of-ball bonus can reach up to 15,000 points (30,000 when doubled).
Approximately 4,820 units were manufactured. Gottlieb also released a two-player version of this same design titled Out of Sight, which had a smaller production run of roughly 1,750 units.
